Privacy Policy

ENG ETC is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use ETC Role Playing Application, available on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

The App does not create user accounts and does not collect or store any information that identifies you personally (such as your contact details).

The App does temporarily process camera images for the sole purpose of mood/expression recognition during roleplaying, as described below. This processing does not identify who you are — it only estimates emotional expression.

How We Use Your Information

1. Image Processing (Facial Expression / Mood Detection)

When you interact with the avatar, the App captures an image of your face to estimate your mood or expression. Here is exactly what happens to that image:

• Where it is processed: The image is sent securely (via HTTPS) to ENG ETC's own backend servers. It is not sent to, stored by, or shared with any third-party company for this purpose. Processing is running entirely on our own infrastructure.
• What is generated: Our server converts the image into a set of numerical facial-landmark weights and emotional-expression percentages. This output cannot be used to identify, recognize, or re-derive the identity of any individual — it is not a faceprint and is not used for facial recognition or authentication.
• How long the image is kept: The original image is held in server memory only for the duration of processing — a maximum of 10 seconds — and is then permanently and automatically deleted. Images are never written to persistent storage, backed up, or logged.

2. AI Conversation / Reasoning

The App uses OpenAI's API to generate the avatar's conversational responses. No images, photos, or camera data are ever sent to OpenAI or any other third party. Please see OpenAI's own privacy statement (linked below) for how they handle data submitted through their API.

Data Security

We use secure communication protocols (e.g., HTTPS) for all data transmitted between the App and our servers.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service used by the App is OpenAI, and only for conversational purposes (see "AI Conversation / Reasoning" above).

No image or camera data is shared with OpenAI or any other third party.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 without parental or teacher supervision.

The related app store listings are set and advised as such.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if changes are made to the App or its features. Updates will be posted on the App Store / Play Store listing and within the App. The "Updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect the latest changes.
